Build an entire functional department
A recently public software company in Southern California needed
to raise the bar in accounting and finance. With revenues of
under $20mm, they projected tremendous growth in their business
in the coming years. The current accounting staff would not
be able to sustain and uphold the high accounting standards
with the tremendous growth rate of the company. SESG partnered
with the Corporate Controller and CFO developing a long-term,
responsible growth plan while providing suggestions for the
internal infrastructure. The company values its culture and
stresses the importance of finding, hiring and keeping the right
people. Through its partnership with SESG, they built the accounting
and finance department from a staff of 14 to a staff with direct
reports of over 100 employees, with all key hires in management
and strategic finance positions through SESG. All employees
hired through SESG are still at our client and thriving, most
of whom have been promoted at least once. As of the end of 2002,
the company is now over 1600 employees with a market cap of
over $800MM.
